Montreal’s Yoo Doo Right are back in action after touring extensively with the likes of Acid Mothers Temple, DIIV, Ariel Pink, and Kikagaku Moyo throughout 2018. They’ve released a new song “The Moral Compass of a Self-Driving Car” and accompanying video in collaboration with Olivia du Vergier.
Describing the process of developing the concept Olivia states, “There is a feeling of forward motion to ‘The Moral Compass of a Self-Driving Car’ that I connected with immediately when developing this video. It felt necessary to focus on movement. I kept thinking of the scene in David Lynch’s Lost Highway – a car speeding wildly down a highway in the middle of the night, bitumen disappearing beneath it as it moved.”
“The Moral Compass of a Self-Driving Car” perfectly combines 1 part krautrock, 1 part psych, and 1 part post-rock. Olivia du Vergier, serves up this rocktail with a twist with the accompanying music video. Be sure to check out the release of this song July 13th at L’Escogriffe Bar Spectacle.
